Privacy Policy
Effective October 2, 2026
The short version. We collect only what Proofsheet needs to work: your login email, your studio details and the project records you create. Your projects are private to your account. We don’t sell your data, show ads, or use tracking cookies. You can download everything or delete your account at any time from Settings.
Who we are
Proofsheet (“Proofsheet,” “we,” “us”) is a web app for designers to keep project records and share approval pages with clients. This policy explains what information we collect through proofsheetapp.com and app.proofsheetapp.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email hello@proofsheetapp.com.
Information we collect
When you create an account
- Your email address and password. Passwords are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form; we can’t see them.
- Your studio profile: studio name, your name, contact email, website and logo, if you add them.
- Your settings, such as whether client alert emails are on.
When you use Proofsheet
- Your project records: project names, clients, colors, fonts, links, notes, designs, file details and logos you upload.
- Client pages you share, which contain only the parts of a project you choose to show. If you set a page password, it is stored only in scrambled form.
When a client responds on a shared page
- We record their response (approve or request changes), any note they type, and the time. Clients don’t need an account, and we don’t collect their name or email.
When you join the waitlist
- Your email address and the date you signed up.
Technical information
- Like most websites, our hosting and database providers keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the time of a request) for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
- To run Proofsheet: storing and showing your projects, keeping you logged in, and publishing the client pages you share.
- To send emails you need: account confirmation, login links, password resets, email-change confirmations and, if turned on, client alerts.
- To email waitlist members when Proofsheet opens.
- To answer your questions and fix problems you report.
- To keep Proofsheet secure and prevent abuse.
We don’t sell or rent your information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers below, who process it only to run Proofsheet.

When paid plans launch, payments will be handled by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe; Proofsheet never sees or stores your full card number. We’ll update this policy before then.
Cookies and local storage
Proofsheet doesn’t use advertising or analytics cookies. The app uses your browser’s local storage to keep you logged in and to remember preferences like light or dark mode. Client pages may remember a page password for the current browser tab so the client doesn’t have to retype it.
Client pages
A client page can be opened by anyone who has its link, so share links only with the people you intend. Pages are hidden from search engines, use long unguessable links, and can be protected with a password or expiry date. You can stop sharing at any time.
Keeping and deleting your information
- We keep your account information for as long as your account is open.
- You can download a full backup of your projects and studio profile at any time from Settings.
- You can delete your account from Settings. This immediately deletes your login, projects, studio profile, logos, client pages and client responses. Copies may remain in our providers’ encrypted backups for a limited period before they are overwritten.
- To leave the waitlist, email us and we’ll remove you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to object to how it’s used. Most of this you can do yourself in Settings. For anything else, email hello@proofsheetapp.com and we’ll respond within 30 days.
Security
Proofsheet uses encrypted connections (HTTPS) everywhere, keeps each account’s data separate with database-level access rules, and stores passwords only in hashed form. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you promptly if a breach affects you.
Children
Proofsheet is built for professionals and isn’t intended for anyone under 16. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, let account holders know by email before they take effect.
